Details

What is your season?

We book weddings starting in June until the second week of October.

What is your rental time frame?

For a relaxing set up and clean up, we book only one wedding a week and provide a multiple day schedule.

Wednesday - Friday you will have from 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM to set up and have your rehearsal.

Saturday is for weddings with music ending by 11:00 PM. All parties must vacate the grounds  by 11:30pm.

Sunday you will have till 1:00 PM to clean up and take home any personal belongings you left on the property overnight.

How late can the event go?

Music ends at the town curfew of 11pm. All parties must vacate the grounds by 11:30pm.

Do you provide tables and chairs?

We provide the rental of, the set up and break down of tables and chairs for an additional fee of $1,500. We have enough banquet tables (25) to seat our barn at full capacity (200 guests). The padded white resin chairs are used for the ceremony and for the reception and we have 250 of them. We set up your tables on Thursday evening and chairs on Saturday morning in your chosen configuration.  We also have additional banquet tables for your caterers to use, four cocktail tables, two aged wine barrels, and two small decorative tables. (See more photos on our Rates page)

How does the bar work?

The bar is an open bar only, so all beverages alcoholic and non-alcoholic must be supplied by you ahead of time. You must supply recipes for any cocktails, garnishes, alcohol and sodas two days prior to the event. Although you have to supply your own alcohol, a perk is that this is a lot more affordable than paying for a catered full service bar.

  • We recommend 4 beers, a red and white wine, his/hers cocktail, water, soda and any garnishes you want to supply

  • Ice, napkins, straws and cups are included in our bar service

What vendors can we use?

All vendors must be approved by the hosts at least one month before the wedding. If you need help finding vendors to work with, we are happy to provide you with a list of the ones who have worked with us here.

Do you require a wedding planner?

We are strictly a venue and as hosts we are here to answer any questions you have about the space we provide. We do not coordinate event planning.

We encourage using a wedding planner but do not require one. Wedding planners are partly there to make sure everything runs smoothly and that you have everything booked far enough in advance for our busy season in Door County however we've seen many beautiful self-planned weddings at our venue.

What about parking?

We have a 75 car capacity on the property. Cars are allowed to be parked overnight but must be cleared of the property by 1:00 PM on Sunday.

What other services do you provide?
  • Hosts are present on site for answering questions

  • Tables and chairs set up with the price of tables and chairs. Tables are set up Thursday evening so you can decorate Friday and chairs will be set up Saturday morning for the ceremony then moved indoors for reception seating. We also help break down tables for dancing.

  • Bar service- We provide bartenders and more for your event. See question above.

  • Garbage service- we will provide a dumpster for your event but it is your responsibility to make sure all the garbage makes it into the dumpster by the end of the night. We take care of any garbage from the bar.

What happens in the event of inclement weather?

Weather permitting, the ceremony may be moved to the parlor inside of the barn which fits up to 100 chairs with more space available in the main barn. You and your wedding planner can decide if you’d like to move chairs indoors in this scenario.

How do I book a date?

Contact us by email Lucas@aboutthymefarm.com to see if your date is available. Then return your contract signed with the 50% non-refundable down payment.

Where are you located? Can I come see the farm?

Baileys Harbor is just a two minute drive away from our farm at 8425 County Road F with many restaurants, a brewery, beaches, and waterfront park. Our farm is not open to the public but we are happy to schedule a walk through with you.

What makes us unique?

Our farm is truly a special place with its vintage barn and the natural setting that it is placed in. The timeless charm of the wood and stone gives our space a character that leaves a warm impression and a sense of liveliness. With the size of our property, it also gives one the opportunity for immense creativity for setting up the perfect one of a kind wedding day.

We provide an open bar service which means major savings for you. We also have tables and chairs on the property which is one less thing for you to have to rent. Since we, the hosts also live on the property, we are available on the day of your wedding. We are so happy to be able to share this beautiful property with others for such a meaningful event.
